Rock on Streetegists, you're doing it in style

WE’RE ALL OVER THE OVERALLS

They’re baaaaack. The overalls, which were huge in the '90s, have been brilliantly reinvented in this outfit, with imagination and creativity. For that old school vibe the best denim overalls are often found in op shops and vintage stores. Overalls definitely have a boy-meets-girl element to them, a trend that has been dominating the fashion world in recent years. But what we love about overalls is their versatility, you can rock the long denim overalls for more of a '70s style, or the cuter and more feminine short overall. You can roll them, leave one strap unbuttoned and layer it with all sorts of tops underneath. The overalls are bringing the '90s back one strap at a time.

ALL LACED UP

Lace was absolutely huge this year, with designers focusing on colour and pattern. But we think there is nothing more beautiful than simple black or white lace. We absolutely adore the intricate sheer and lace detailing on the bottom of this streetegist’s skirt, the full-length drawing your eye in even more. It was really interesting to see this skirt paired with such laid back styling overall, but it works. The mismatched quirkiness of the outfit is so unique and we think this streetegist deserves a round of applause for her sheer (just like her skirt) creativity!

HATS ALL FOLKS

This streetegist is a double threat, with his Tommy Hilfiger bag and rugby shirt. But we say bring it on! We think this is a great and comfortable everyday outfit for male students, while not losing those elements of style and confidence that every look needs. Chuck some Nikes and a cap on to complete the outfit and we have a sporty but stylish ensemble. Who knows, maybe this streetegist will make the sling the next big fashion trend?

MUSTARD UP THE COURAGE

The colour of this mustard jumper called out to us as this streetegist walked past, and we are so glad we didn’t miss the chance to take a quick snap. We love the raw and natural qualities of this mohair knit and think it works a treat with the grungy Dr Martens and simple black jeans. The worn rain jacket with plaid lining and brass buttons adds another somewhat rustic element to this outfit, which fits in seamlessly. We relish the fact that this mustard jumper, and its streetegist, had the style to ketchup with our cameras.

LET’S HAVE A CONVERSE-ATION

It’s fair to say we all love kickin’ around in a pair of Converses on our casual days, and clearly this streetegist does too. We adore the eclectic style of this outfit and, simply put, we think it oozes sassiness and confidence. The mishmash of colours, textures and patterns all combine to create an outfit we can’t take our eyes off! The striped socks, checked shirt and plaid scarf are our pattern pieces. Meanwhile the pink shorts and denim jacket add that needed simplicity that ties the outfit together. We think there is something very punk rock about this look and we say rock on!
