Thousands rallied in Melbourne CBD last weekend in support of the Voice to Parliament.

The pro-Voice rally started at noon on Sunday in front of the State Library of Victoria, and ended with speeches by Indigenous leaders and performances by musicians.

Federal Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney addressed the crowd at Federation Square, where she urged Victorians to be more proactive about the October 14 referendum if they wanted to secure a Yes victory.

“History is truly calling us,” Ms Burney said, as she described the Voice to Parliament as a chance for reconciliation in Australia.

Dale, an attendee at the rally, said she was optimistic about the referendum.

“It’s important to do something positive when there has been a lot of negativity," she said.

"I hope that there are still a lot of people who haven’t made up their minds.

"This referendum is not about politics, it’s about people … Yes is about hope.”

Brandon, one of the volunteers for the Yes campaign, said he had come to the rally because of an invitation from the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

“I have been doing some door-knocking and have not experienced any negativity so far," he said.

"I hope everyone votes Yes.”
