A polio victim who contracted the disease as a child has made a heartfelt plea to parents to vaccinate their children.

Her appeal comes as Melbourne local councils provide free vaccines during information days, in a bid to combat damage done by the spread of dangerous misinformation about the potentially life-saving medicine.
