Bionic Woman: Dianne was told she would go blind, until science became her superhero

Dianne Ashworth was diagnosed with a retinal disease at the age of 24. It would cause the mother of two young boys to eventually go blind.

Years later, during an Australian-first trial, Dianne received a bionic eye implant. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of a team of Melbourne scientists, the breakthrough gives hope to vision impaired people globally.
