Video games have come to Caulfield's big screen.

Screen assistant Eric Lee, whose idea it was, said he wanted to provide students with something fun to do, as a change of pace from the usual programs on offer.

“You can’t just have serious topics all the time, it gets boring,” he said.

“It’s fun, that’s the short of it.”

Starting last week, students will be able to play games such as Tetris and Mario Kart on the big screen every Wednesday from 11am to 2pm. 

Mr Lee said he hoped it would provide an opportunity for gamers to meet other gamers on-campus.

MONSU vice-president Caitlyn Dunne said  MONSU was happy to support clubs that wanted to enhance the student experience at Caulfield. 

"The club MEGA has seen the potential in using this resource its a great way for them to reach out to their members as well as finding new members, and just create a traction on the campus green," she said.

"It really creates a lively feel on campus … I am really happy that we are seeing more things happen like this on campus."
