Australian tourists are among those roaming free around Turkey, while its citizens adhere to a bizarre government lockdown aimed at promoting tourism while preventing the spread of COVID19.

Turkey is enforcing a strict lockdown for its citizens while tourists, including Australians, remain exempt to roam free in the hope of boosting the country's economy.
The controversial lockdown includes a ban on any sales of "non-essential" products, including female sanitary items, alcohol and even books.
