Bright and bold colours kick up the heat

As the wet weather slowly disappears and temperatures rise, so too does our desire to transition into some much-needed spring colour.

Check out these bright lights who were seen strolling through Monash Caulfield campus this week, paying homage to bold colours and patterns.

With Melbourne Spring Fashion Week fresh in our minds, streetegists took style trends seen on the runway and wore them in their weekly tutorials.

Spring usually brings out the best of nature and many designers replicate these floral patterns in fashion pieces. The Closing Resort runway of the Spring Festival showcased bright colours and prints that screamed sun and fun.

Julia looked fresh and in theme with her bright yellow trench coat. Wearing a basic fashion piece in a bold colour adds a stylish edge to your outfit. Paired with blue jeans and a black T-shirt, this streetegist made dressing for spring look easy.

Zhaoen took a similar approach, layering an electric blue coat over a black pair of jeans.

If you are wanting to try a bold colour this spring but are too scared to take the leap, try wearing a coat similar to our streetegists over white or black jeans.

We have chosen two jackets that will make you want to jump right into this style next season. The first, which replicates Julia’s yellow "rain style" trench, you can find here at boohoo.com for $80.

The other is similar to what streetegist Tess was seen rocking. Taking a more artistic flair with her jacket and setting herself apart from the typical warmer, her Gorman jacket had a futuristic feel.

A patterned or printed jacket is a great way to add some depth and style to your spring ensembles. But as we all know, sometimes the best items can often leave our bank accounts empty. We found a great floral jacket that will cost you less than a Saturday night out, and you can find it here for less than $30.

But it’s not all about jackets this spring season, patterned pants can sometimes be some of our favourite fashion items.

While many of us may dread the thought of wearing tight, uncomfortable pants to classes everyday, style doesn't necessarily have to mean pain.

Maddie wore her comfortable and patterned Dharma Bum yoga pants with a knitted jumper and white Nike runners.

Dressing up everyday activewear is a great way to mix fashion with lifestyle and some of the best in the business hold this exact talent.

Worn to the gym or to get a morning coffee, all we can be sure of is that this streetegist knows how to look good in a pair of gym tights.
