Lawrie Zion is Associate Professor and Head of Communications and Media at Latrobe University and is leading a team of researchers in a project titled New Beats: A study of Australian journalists who became redundant during and since 2012. He is also the co-founder of Upstart, an online magazine that presents the work of student journalists.
