Whether you are an Instagram influencer or just love taking pretty pictures of your brunch food, we've got you covered. Here are four top brunch spots in Melbourne with delicious Insta-worthy menus and picturesque surroundings that surely will leave your Instagram feed looking neat.

  1. Sir Charles (@sircharlesfitzroy)121 Johnston St, Fitzroy VIC 3065Free Wi-Fi: YesNearest public transport: five minutes walk from the route 96 tram stop.

Sir Charles, in Fitzroy, is decorated with plants and is well lit for taking plenty of photos. Even though it is usually bustling with customers, the spacious venue has lots of room and places to sit, making it a great place to meet with colleagues or to sit back and take a few Insta snaps with friends.

Sir Charles’ salmon benedict is different from what you might expect. The sweet and flaky roti is topped with chillies, smoked salmon rillette, baby spinach, panko poached eggs and sriracha hollandaise sauce. Instead of a usual creamy taste, the sauce has a mild kick to it. The panko poached eggs are also full of surprises: crunchy on the outside, but melts in your mouth. The sweet and flaky roti gives a unique flavour that is far from the ordinary salmon benny. Their salmon benny can easily be paired with their sweet Batch Brew coffee from Piata, Brazil.

Muharam Café (@muharamcafe)97 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn VIC 3122Free wii-fi: NoNearest public transport: two minutes' walk from Hawthorn station, right in front of the route 75 tram stop

If you’re looking for beautiful food on a budget, Muharam café has brought down all items on their menu to $11 for a whole year to celebrate its 11th Birthday. Muharam Café is a quaint, minimalist place in Hawthorn, decorated with potted plants on sleek white wall. Hanging lights and colorful chairs give a splash of energy and colour. It is a great place for an intimate brunch, but is not recommended for a big group of people since it would feel a bit crammed.

Their buckwheat waffle is perfect for anyone with an insatiable sweet tooth. The waffle batter is mixed with activated charcoal that could help detox your body. The waffles are cooked to perfection, and topped with fresh strawberries, maple=glazed bananas, cashew cream and coyo and pistachio crumble. These heavenly waffles provide the perfect amount of sweetness for a brunch menu. If that is not enough already, they are also gluten free and vegan.

Humble Rays (@humbleraysmelb)71 Bouverie St, Carlton VIC 3053Free Wi-Fi: YesNearest public transport: 10 minute walk from Melbourne Central Station.

Humble Rays, located near the RMIT city campus, is a brunch hotspot among students and it is easy to see why. The place is spacious, well lit, colourful and vibrant. The neon light fixtures and colourful wallpaper provide the perfect background to snap a few Instagram photos.

Humble Rays offers brunch with an Asian twist. The Belly Dancing pancakes are the ultimate treat for sweet and savory fans. The unexpected combination of pancakes, bacon, banana, Nutella and egg is packed with mouthwatering flavor. The sweet caramel on the side perfectly compliments the saltiness of the parmesan. Though it is a wacky combination, it will certainly get your belly dancing with joy.

Even though it can get crowded at times, Humble Rays is perfect for a group brunch experience. The atmosphere is always buzzing and the staff are always friendly.

Krimper Café (@krimpercafe)20 Guildford Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000Free Wi-Fi: NoNearest public transport:  five-minute walk from Melbourne Central Station

Krimper Café is a hidden gem in the city area, quite literally hidden behind closed door to what seems to be the entrance to Narnia. Once you enter, the café is spacious with a cozy warehouse vibe. Since Krimper is quite hidden, the atmosphere is calming and not too busy, a perfect place to start a laid-back Sunday morning.

For a cafe located in the city centre, Krimper offers a relatively affordable brunch menu. For just $16, you can start your day with Krimper’s smashed avo. Toasted sourdough, a poached egg, buffalo mozzarella cheese, mashed pumpkin and smashed avocado is all it takes to blow your taste buds away. The combination and balance between the ripened avocado and the sweet pumpkin is perfect. The buffalo mozzarella cheese is soft and creamy and has a depth of flavor to it which takes Krimper’s smashed avo to another level. A flat white on the side makes for the perfect Melbourne brunch.
